7DS Records started out of necessity, not grand ambition. When Rages of Sin began self-releasing their music on streaming platforms, they needed something to put in the "record label" field on Spotify and other services. Rather than leave it blank or make something up, Seven Deadly Sins Records was born.

Here's the thing about record labels: you don't need to register anywhere to be one. You don't need an office, employees, or million-dollar budgets. If you release music and call yourself a record label, you legally are one. That's exactly what we did, and that's exactly what we are – a real record label with realistic expectations.

The Accidental Label

Rages of Sin needed a label name for Spotify. That's literally how this started. When you upload music to streaming services, there's a required field for "record label." You can't leave it blank, and "Self-Released" looks unprofessional. So Seven Deadly Sins Records was created to fill that field.

What began as a necessary fiction became a real thing. The band started getting asked about their "label," other musicians inquired about signing, and before we knew it, we were actually operating as a record label. Not by design, but by evolution.
